- I would like to put my house on the site to attract possible filming opportunities as a location. What will it cost me?
- Nothing! You supply us with at least four photos as well as some relevant details about your property - points of interest, size of land, number of bedrooms, etc. If you wish, we can come to your house for thirty minutes in order to take some photos. We will organise your info and upload it to locationsurrey.com for you.
- My entry costs nothing!? Then how do you make money?
- When we get an enquiry about your property, our experienced directors will negotiate a relevant fee on your behalf, which you will be paid directly by the enquirers. Within one week of receipt of this payment, we will invoice you for our commission, which is 15%.
- Apart from the photos being taken, is there any paperwork to get involved in?
- Not at all. Once your entry is 'live' on locationsurrey.com and you are happy with the content, we will issue two copies of your invoice - one for your own records and one to be sent back to us with your signed approval.
- I am the vicar of the local parish church... it would be good to swell our coffers with a fee for use of our church or grounds...
- Not a problem! Churches and religious locations come under the same jurisdiction as private houses above - we will upload your photos and information to locationsurrey.com for free and take a 15% commission for any resultant use of your location.
- I run a pub. I've seen plenty of bar scenes on telly... what will it cost to get my information on locationsurrey.com?
- Pub owners are in a unique position to benefit from locationsurrey.com's features. Not only will your location be advertised nationally, but film crews are always keen to learn of local pubs that can provide food, drink and possibly accommodation.
We will need an example advertisement and/or relevant information about your pub, and some photos (as above, if you want we can come and take the photos for you free of charge). For £150 per year our experienced directors will negotiate all third party fees on your behalf. Any use of your premises for feeding a crew or hiring of rooms (if applicable) is not subject to an additional fee. If your premises are used as a film location, then our fee is 15% of the total amount received by you from the hiring company. Any other benefits are purely profit to you.
- I run a quaint post office in the village. I've been told it's very photogenic - how much would an entry be?
- We charge £50 per year for retail outlets - that's less than £1 a week!
If your premises are used for a location, we will negotiate and monitor the transaction to ensure you get the best deal, for a commission of 15%. We consider all kinds of small shops - butcher's, baker's, (candlestick maker's...) or any kind of similar premises to be a 'retail outlet' and therefore fall under the same price.
- I am an actress, can I get my details on the site to interest TV and Film personnel?
- Certainly! While we don't endeavour to replace publications such as Spotlight, Showcall et al, we run in parallel and give performers, artistes, musicians and all media creatives the opportunity of either direct contact or to via a liason (such as your agent or manager). Your details and a related website you may already have can be included as well. For £50 per year, your services will be displayed to directors, casting agents, producers and anyone related to the TV and Film industry. Unlike with Locations, we do not take a commission fee for any work you may be offered; artistes and technical staff (such as cameramen, lighting, sound and media, make-up, wardrobe etc.) can all benefit from this opportunity.
